Winter is a magical season that transforms our landscapes into veritable playgrounds. Snow-capped mountains, powder-covered forests and frozen lakes provide the perfect backdrop for snow sports. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or prefer more leisurely pursuits, there’s something for everyone. In this article, our campsite in the Puy de Dôme invites you to discover the most popular winter sports and get inspired for your next adventure.
Downhill skiing
Alpine skiing is undoubtedly the most emblematic winter sport. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skier, ski resorts offer runs to suit all levels. The thrill of speed and the beauty of the mountain scenery make cross-country skiing an unforgettable experience. Don’t forget to wear the right equipment and respect the safety rules on the slopes!
Snowboarding
For those looking for an alternative to skiing during their stay at our winter campsite, snowboarding is an exciting option. This sport, which involves sliding on a board, offers an incredible feeling of freedom. The snowparks, with their jumps and modules, are a real magnet for tricks enthusiasts. Whether you’re on a piste or in a snowpark, snowbaording is an activity that promises moments of pure pleasure.
Cross-country skiing
If you prefer a more leisurely approach, cross-country skiing is for you. This sport, which is practiced on marked trails, lets you discover nature while exercising your endurance. Cross-country skiing is accessible to all, and offers an excellent way to keep fit while enjoying the luminous scenery. What’s more, it’s often less crowded than downhill skiing, making it a peaceful option to discover on your camping vacation near ski resorts.
Ski touring
Ski touring, or ski mountaineering, is an activity that combines skiing and hiking in the mountains. This sport allows you to explore virgin terrain and enjoy nature far from the crowds of ski resorts. Touring skiers use skis fitted with sealskins to ascend the slopes, then ski down on fresh snow.
Freeskiing
For fans of extreme sensations, freeskiing is a discipline that combines downhill skiing and snowboarding. It can be practised in a variety of environments, and features impressive acrobatic tricks. Freeskiers often seek out virgin terrain and technical challenges, making it both a demanding and rewarding sport.
